The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County is an “oasis” of peace, comfort and trust supporting the whole person with respect, compassion and empathy. They support, empower and educate those who are suffering from or caring for a person with a life-altering diagnosis.
Our goal is to be there for people from diagnosis all the way through wherever their journey takes them, whether it be survival, recovery or death.
What We Do We do many things for many people. The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County is here to assist patients, families and caregivers with the help they need throughout their journey. We offer many types of wellness programs, supportive care for emotional, physical, mental and spiritual support and we also offer medical care from our staff doctors and nurses.
Our Volunteers Volunteers are the backbone of The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. Without them we wouldn’t be able to provide a lot of our services. What exactly is it that our volunteers do? Well, just about everything and anything! Our volunteers visit people at home and in the hospital, cook food for meals and events, drive patients to appointments and help run different artistic activities. And that’s only a few things they help to do!
What Does It Cost To Use Hospice Services? All of our services and programs at The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County are provided free of charge. That means we can let people stay here for free and are able to not have them pay for the programs they use. But by not having people pay, that means we have to work on different fundraisers and ask for donations from businesses, community programs and individuals.
